Workshops at Adam Mickiewicz University
On March 12th 2025 our class 3/4 and our English teacher Mrs Aleksandra Marciniak went to Adam Mickiewicz University to Collegium Heliodori Święcicki at 6 Grunwaldzka Street to take part in two workshops at the Department of English Studies. Both workshops were in English.
The lectures were run by Ms Nancy Saeys and Mr Mikołaj Buczak. The first lecture given by Mr Buczak was about the challenges of communicating with people from different cultures. He talked about the influence of a language and culture on international communication. He also taught us what the culture is. We learned about six key dimensions to compare national cultures and he asked us if we knew about Poland’s position at every point in the context of the whole world.
We really enjoyed speculating about it and answering the lecturer’s questions. The second workshop given by Ms Saeys was about the crazy sounds of Dutch. She explained the pronunciation of words, vowels and phonemes. With joy and laughter we repeated words that were totally foreign to us. During the workshops the atmosphere was very friendly.
After 2 hours spent at the University everyone left satisfied with the workshops we participated in.
